I used to have 'cron' jobs send me an email, if it was important. to my syslog email account.

There are jobs that I'd like to track, loosely, that I'd like to send emails about.

Hi,

I am not sure about your question whether it's related with Business central or not.

Still sharing in context of Business central

Option 1 (AL Code): Subscribe to OnAfterRun of Job Queue Dispatcher → send email via SMTP Mail Setup.

Option 2 (Power Automate): Trigger on Job Queue Log Entry change → send email.

Option 3 (External Script): Poll BC OData for job logs → email via Python/PowerShell.

Easiest: Power Automate (no code).
Most integrated: AL customization.
