reverse historical year

Posted on by 5

Hello.  I have a client requiring adjusting entries for closed years (2016, 2017 and 2018).  What order is recommended for opening years?   Should more than one historic year be open at a time?

Ideally, I would like to start with 2016 so I can verify balances going forward.

Thank you for the assistance

    Hi Miss M

The system will not let you jump years to reopen them.

For example, you cannot open 2016 without 2018 & 2017 being open.

    Start with 2018, then 2017.

You can either open 2016 or post entries to 2016 if you have the option to allow posting to historical years enabled.

    If not, open 2016.

Enter and post your entries, then do your year end close.

Note you have to close your years in order  2016, then 2017 then 2018
