Hide main GP toolbar drop menu

Does anyone know how to hide the primary GP drop menu in the toolbar?  It's usually named "Microsoft Dynamics GP" and has the little GP icon.  I've created a very restrictive role for some temp users and the manager doesn't want them to be able to see any of the items in that drop menu, which includes record/play macros and run integrations.

If anyone knows how to just hide those two items, that would do the trick as well, but I couldn't find anything in roles/tasks that will do it.

Thanks!

I don't think you can find anything in roles/tasks for hiding macros and run integration.

Further they could be initiated by shortcut keys.

You can not hide the macro menu from GP. But you can disable the run integration icon with using the GP security task/role.

    Assigning Integration menu to users.

    1. Go to, Tools-->Setup-->System-->Security Tasks.

    2. Enter a new Task ID, Name, and Description.

    3. Select Product: Microsoft Dynamics GP, Type: Microsoft Dynamics GP Import, and Series: Integration Site Enabler.

    4. Mark the Integration Site Enabled in the access list.

    5. Click save.

Then crate a new role with marking this task and assign the same to particular users who are all want to access the Integration Manager.

    Hope this helps!!!

    Hello austinadams

Why to remove it completely ? It has general users related tasks such as the User Preferences and Macro recording ... Some of these tasks can be found under the default user.

The things that you definitely should remove are the utilities, maintenance tasks .... etc. Most of these tasks can be found under their associated categories like purchasing, inventory, financials ...etc. Other than that, you should not worry about a user having this Microsoft Dynamics GP list with a user preferences.

To get this practically resolved, you may share a print screen illustrating all the remaining elements of Microsoft Dynamics GP list, and we will see how to help you out in this.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,

The manager who requested this functionality is not comfortable with the temp employees having access to run integrations or record/play macros.  I've done some testing with the integrations and due to their limited access, the integrations fail if they try to run any of them, so this might not be that big of an issue.  Likewise, their ability to run/record macros is pretty harmless as well due to restricted privs, so might just tell them it's ok to leave them visible.

If anyone has suggestions on how to simply hide those features or the main "Microsoft Dynamics GP" drop menu, that would be great.

    Thanks, Austin

I have nothing more to add to what's already been suggested and/or understood. I just wanted to pitch in and confirm that it is impossible to hide, though my reply might not add value to this discussion anymore.
