Give Cross access roles to Business Units users

Hello,

We have been using Dynamics 365 Marketing Module. We have two Business Units BKTest1 and BKTest 2. There are different users in both Business Units.

How can grant read access to user in BKTest1 to all leads of a user in BKTest2 ?

Hi partner,

We will use owner team.

Step 1. create a new security role, select its Business Unit to BKTest1 and set its Lead read access to Business Unit level.



Step 2. Create a new owner team of BKTest1, add users of  BKTest2 into this team.

Step 3. Click MANAGE ROLES button, and select the created security role.

Hello Lu,

Thank for this explanation. after doing the above process, this will define that the owner of BKTest1 will have access to leads of users (team members) of BKTest2 which you added in team '1 team' ? just clarifying.

Hi partner,

Just one sentence description may be ambiguous. Let me explain in detail.

At the beginning, there are two business units BKTest1 and BKTest2, and users of BKTest2 could not access Leads of BKTest1.

Therefore, we need to assign the permissions of BKTest1 to the users of BKTest2.

Then, we create an owner team of BKTest1 and a security role of BKTest1. Assign this security role to this team.

Finally, we add the users of BKTest2 to this team. In this way, BKTest2 users can access Leads of BKTest1.

If you want to allow BKTest1 users to access Leads of BKTest2, just create a BKTest2 security role and team, and add BKTest1 users to this team.

Hello Partner,

Thank you for this explanation. I got this. Just let say one more instance.

BKTest1 has users - David and Edward

BKTest2 has users - Tony and Smith

Now if Smith want to access the leads of only David and not of Edward, what changes we can make in this set up.

Also if Tony wants to access leads of both David and Edward what might be the change.

Hi partner,

I would recommend you post only one question in a thread to keep the thread purity , so that community users will quickly find the answer.

To achieve it, you have to develop a cutomer workflow, when the Lead is created and assigned, if the owner of Lead is David, share the Lead to Smith.
