The custom export entity does not support incremental export

Hi guys,

We got an error when using the custom export entity in Data management to export to BYOD.

Please kindly note that we can export both full push and incremental push with some filter (ie: invoice line by month) with EXCEL. Without filter, it will run forever.

Then, we try to:

Delete the entity from all export/import projects (not the run history, just the projects)
Delete the entity from Data entity list
Refresh Entity List to restore the data entity to list
Republish the entity and test full push export first (change tracking: all tables)

pastedimage1647478320622v4.png=> i have this warning. Still, we got the same error and fail to export to BYOD.

Can anyone suggest any solution to overcome it?

Many thanks

ETT

As the error message says, this isn't supported. If you can't change the structure of your entity, you still can use a custom query instead of "All tables". See Enable change tracking for entities for more details.

    Hi Martin,

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried to change tracking to "custom query" but it seems that I cannot select it.

Alternatively, can you tell me where I can change structure of entity for incremental push on Dev env.

    Appreciated

    Ett

When you're create a data entity in Visial Studio, you're defining data sources and their relations. That's what the error is talking about when mentioning a data source.

    Hi Martin,

Thanks for that. We checked data source and its child data source. They are all allowing change tracking data: Yes. Can you please advise where we can update structure to allow the incremental push in VS. Thanks

You would have to get rid of the view or its child data sources (the warning message in your screenshot tells you what's wrong). Note that I don't recommend it and it may even be impossible. I would use a custom query instead.

Note that you must implement the custom query before you can use it. The option is disabled simply because there is no query to use.
