Exporting Managed Solutions

Hi all,

Bit of long shot, but has anyone ever exported a Managed Solution without having to re-create a new solution and adding all components seperately (as this is so time consuming).

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

    You can only export an unmanaged soltion into either a managed solution or unmanaged. You can't export a managed solution per definition.

    There is another "caveat".. you can create a new solution and add components, but you should to do it in the environment where those components are still unmanaged.

    Hi Alex,

    I need one suggestion..Is there a way to take some components from one instance to another in case those components are kept inside a managed solution.But, i want to take updated versions of those components as unmanaged from one env to another ..Pls suggest

    Hi,

      you cannot export managed components (or, at least, the "base" version of those components.. at most, you can export the un-managed changes applied to those components in the current instance)
