Hi Experts,

Your expertise and assistance is needed to meet the following requirement.

Is it possible to use financial dimensions in transfer orders? If so, please let us know how this can be achieved.

We don't want to mandate financial dimensions because there are no fields available to enter or select them in transfer orders.
I have the same question (0)

    Good day Zubair Shaik,

Unfortunately, that’s not possible in standard Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management.

My advice is to consider a customization or to raise an idea on Microsoft’s Ideas portal:

Link to the ideas portal: https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/

As an alternative workaround, you might consider using the transfer journal, which does support financial dimensions.

    Best regards,
    Laurens van der Tang

    Hi,

Could you explain a bit why you need financial dimensions on a transfer order?

I mean you need or want fin. dim. for postings, however, transfer orders are meant to be transferred from one location to another, so I dont understand whats the purpose of it, without meaning its nonsense, I just dont understand.

    Kind regards, Adis

    Hi Adis,

Thank you for your response. We have branches across the GCC, and our finance team wants to accurately track and manage inventory movement using branch-level dimensions in transfer orders.

No, not out of the box unfortunately.
You will have to make a customization if you want this functionality.

    Best regards,

    Hi Zubair,

I created an idea on the portal about 7 years ago. Please upvote the idea: Microsoft Idea
PS. It seems like there are more duplicate ideas on the portal already.

If you need a quick solution, you can go for a customization as suggested below.

    Hello Zubair,

There is no standard functionality to support adding Financial Dimensions to Transfer orders, whereas it can be achieved through customization.

I am curious to know how adding the Financial dimension to the transfer order helps you. Could you please share more about your objective or what you're aiming to accomplish with this enhancement?

    Thanks,
    Yasar

    Thanks, Andre, for responding.

Thanks, Yasar Khan for responding. We have branches across the GCC, and our finance team wants to accurately track and manage inventory movement using branch-level dimensions in transfer orders.

For the time being, I've decided to utilize the Dimension Link feature in Inventory Management to associate Branch with the sites in UAT.

If this doesn't serve the intended purpose, I will explore customization options as suggested below.
