Checkbook Access

We have 2 checkbooks one for payroll and one for everything else.  How can I limit access to the payroll checking account?  ie right now you can go to Inquiry - Financial - Checkbook choose the Payroll checkbook and see what each person was paid.  So I need to limit access to the account to only those who balance and do payroll.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Rick

Set security for the Users you do not want to see the payroll checks by removing rights to the Payroll Check Inquiry window...so when they click on Number at the Checkbook Inquiry level they will get denied. The only thing they will see are the check amounts but not who they belong to.

I cannot seem to find where to remove rights to Payroll Check Inquiry at.

We had a custom User Security role so I change users to GP roles but still have access to payroll.

Where do I remove Payroll Check Inquiry?

    Thanks

Rick, the Payroll Check Inquiry is part of the INQ_PAYRL_001* Security Task, which is part of the PAYROLL_CLERK* standard Role ID.  Drill into your custom Security Role, then into the INQ_PAYRL_001* security task and you should find it.

    Hope this helps,

    Rick,

You need to make sure they have no access to smartlist for the banking transactions, there is a field CMLinkID that proudly displays the employee ID.You have the same kind of think in the GL transaction tables. It's really hard to keep a crafty person away from payroll data.

Many times, I have implemented HR/Payroll in a seperate database and then imported summary journal entries into the main company. It works every time! You might also look into Account Level Security. If they can get into report writer - they can look at whatever they want if you do not secure the tables.

    Good luck!

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Thanks to everyone who has commented and made suggests, you have all helped me out.  But in the end it was a Security Role that must have been created and assigned to my user before my time.  It had the Payroll items checked in it.  I now have all users assigned Dynamics Security Roles.  Now to figure out how to let them post to GL but not see GL as we use employee names on some Payroll GL's so I can block the check but not the GL.

Again thanks you have all been very helpful.

    Rick
