Ribbon Workbench - never ending "Importing Solution"

Hi,

I'm trying to publish at least something on my instance (CRM Online, v1710 (9.1.0.35)) but no result.

I use publish solution with 1 entity. It's hanging on "Importing solution" without any error. It just never ends and doesn't import.

I tryed to clear cash, to clear <RibbonDiffXml> and reimport, still no result.

We had a problem on this instance:

Org was down because: "two dbs hit error (at the data center I asume). The dbs have geo secondary on north Europe. We managed to recreate db from secondary. There was no data loss" - That's what I get as an answer from Microsoft support.

I have a feeling these two issues are connected somehow between each other?

Does anyone have any ideas? Would appreciate any help.

Hello Andrey,

Seems the solution import ,publish ribbon workbench does not depends on cache.

What are the components available in the solutions , which you have opened in the Ribbon workbench? Do you have any Javascript web resource in the solution? I have seen sometimes this is happen for the solution.

Did you tried to create new solution with different and single entity, make sure while adding entity in the solution do not select the required component options.

Try with different test solution with one entity and open in ribbon workbench , see how its goes.

This is a new solution with one single entity (account) without any required components in it.

As a test action to see if it works I choose just to hide "deactivate" button but it's still hanging.

I believe you tried with different entity . If you are facing the same issue for different entity as well then try to uninstall Ribbon workbench and install latest one.

I tried to publish on different workstations and had the same result. So it doesn't depend on xrm toolbox or ribbon Workbench version.

What else can I do to fix it if the problem is in the entity? How to determine the root cause of this issue? Are there any ways to do that?

As you said that that this issue you are getting in another instance as well. What changes you did recently ?

One possible way doing uncustomize those button and delete from the entity one by one and keep trying to publish. When you uncustomize button sometimes you need to manually delete command ,enable rule , display rule associate to the button if they are stll showing in ribbon workbench.

Second options, if you have any backup of solution , then try to compare ribbon diff from customization XML.

My last action couple of weeks ago before it stopped publishing was creation of custom button.

After db error I tied to hide button. That's all.

Is it possible that they(MS Support) changed the id of the entities and buttons recreating db?

I also found two new solutions that appeared in the system after that incident:

Sorry , this is not possible. Changing directly in database is completely unsupported and it will not resolve your issue.

I am sure that the problem is your ribbon XML , you need to compare with trial instance and copy the ribbon diff XML and import back again. This will remove your all button but fix your issue.

Please help me understand , what if you manually import any other solution containing the same entity which is causing issue, does that succeed? ( sorry if i have not read through all of posts comments)

if you confirm you still have an issue - would you be able to take that entity from any other environment and just import that this environment as in the clean entity and then build your customisation on top of that.

I tried different enities. But sure.
