I can solve the problem manually by changing the documentnr, but when I repeat the action i will get the same error. WIth the number before. I'm running the report a + the number with 1. It works fine

This is my setup:

This is the no series

While the Phsyical inventory journal hasnt been booked yet.

Kind regards,

Please check no series setup for physical journal , In "Last No. Used" column  and incremented by No column

if this helped , please mark as "verified"

Physical inventory Journal - no serie error
    Hi,

The error occurs because all lines in a Physical Inventory Journal batch must share the same Document No. or the numbers should be in incremental sequence.
    You can try this:
    > Check and remove any leftover or drafted lines from previous attempts.
    > Assign a valid No. Series to the journal batch in Item Journal Batches, then reopen the journal so the system applies the correct Document No. automatically.

    Hope this works.

    Thanks
    Rishabh

Just correct the no series series, check the last no used is properly populated.
You don't have to correct the number series manually, anyway system should take care of it.

In your screenshot the last number used was 3. This means that the next document number needs to be 4. If you try to use any other number, you will get the error message you got.

If you don't want to have these errors, you need to ensure the numbers are sequential. Alternatively, you can remove the number series from the journal batch.

The answer stating that all lines need to have the same document number is AI generated and incorrect. The numbers need to be sequential, they do not need to be the same.

    Hi,

Are you posting all the lines in the batch at once, or are you filtering or manually selecting specific lines before posting?

If you’re using the Calculate Inventory by Variant function to fetch all the lines but not posting them together, this issue can occur. When some lines are posted, the No. Series “Last No. Used” value is updated. However, the remaining lines in the batch still retain the old Document No., which then causes the “Document No. must be equal to…” error during the next posting attempt.

    To avoid this issue:

    • Either post all lines together that were generated by the action, or

    • If you are posting few lines only, then delete the remaining unposted lines and re-run the Calculate Inventory by Variant action. This will regenerate the lines with the updated document number from the number series.

    Hope this helps.
    Aman K
