What is the connection between Dynamics CRM and dynamics 365

Hi, I'm new here and I have being asked to work on Dynamics CRM. But I see Dynamics 365 all around the web. 
I think Dynamics 365 is the updated version of Dynamics CRM? is this correct?
Also Can I get a free trial of dynamics CRM?

And any link for dynamics CRM APIs will be really appreciated. 

These may seems to be very basic questions but I'm a bit confused. Kindly let me know about it.

    Dynamics 365 is a family of different applications and modules. Dynamics CRM (Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement) is a part of this family.

    Yes you can get a free trial here: https://trials.dynamics.com/

    You can start with a Sales module.

    And here you can find useful info.

    Is "sales" for Dynamics CRM or "customer service" ?

    Both of them are part's of Dynamics CRM. Sales or Customer Service module extending Dynamics 365 functionality.

    Can you confirm me one more thing, as you said both of them are part of "Dynamics CRM", is there any other app besides "Sales and customer service" that is the part of Dynamics CRM?

    Also Can we use Dynamics CRM's Rest Apis on free trial (for cloud not on-premises)?
