Display the highest 'Parent' Account in the Hierarchy on every Sub Account

Hey everybody,

I have here extremely complex Account hierarchies. When yo are on a Sub Account on a deep Level you want to know what the 'highest' Account in the hierarchy is.

I tried to solve this with a process, but I didn't come to a solution. How can I solve this via customizing?

Best Regards,

Hannes

    Hi,

    there is 2 possibilities:

    1) the easiest use the hierarchy view of CRM

    2) create a 1:N relationship between accounts called for example "Highest Account"

then turn on cascading changes and in the 1:N relationship create a mapping for this value between the accounts

Also depends on how fluid that hierarchy is and what you need that "highest" account for.

If you do need a lookup field from any account record to that kind of "highest account in the hierarchy" account, I think the only way to do it would be to create a plugin/custom workflow activity. Although, if the hierarchy changes somewhere in the middle, that plugin may have to be able to propagate such changes to the "lower" accounts. Which is all doable, but you may have to do some development
