Unified Service Desk default event listener (http://localhost:5000) pop-ups for IE when our Avaya Phone system sends a request.

We have an implementation of Unified Service Desk application and we are using the event listener http://localhost: 5000 to receive requests (screen-pops) from our Avaya telephone and chat system.  The issue is when we receive a phone call or chat, then it opens a new IE window everytime which is annoying for our Reps.  Has anyone else had a good solution to this issue?  We tried to implement a windows service to close the window, however, it kills all the IE processes which affects USD itself.  Any good solutions for this problem?
