Can master planning suggest planned POs with multiple lines?

Hello,

I am wondering if master planning can suggest planned purchase orders with multiple lines?

For instance:

Item number 123
MOQ: 20
Order multiples: 20 (1 truck load = 20 units)

If MRP calculates that we require an order for 60, can standard master planning suggest a planned purchase order with 3 lines of 20, rather than 1 line of 60? Rationale being that the three lines might be delivered at different times since one line = one truckload.

Or would this require development?

Hello, what you can do is have Master planning create 3 planned orders based on the MOQ of 10. Then you can combine those 3 lines into 1 Purchase order during the firming process.

You can setup Master planning to do that grouping by default, or select it manually while firming planned purchase orders simultaneously:

I assume that to ensure that master planning suggests orders with a quantity no higher than the MOQ, we need to set the maximum order quantity too in default order settings? This max order quantity would be same value as the MOQ.

Or is there another way?

That is correct, you would use the Default order settings to maintain that.
