Dear all,
I'm using GP10 sp5 - with AA installed.
Would like to seek your advice for below described problem:-
There were Journal Entry (Payable - Multi currency gain/loss) posted without error which then found unable to view its Analytical Transaction detail from Inquiry -> Financial -> Journal Entry Inquiry ->Additional -> Analytical Transaction.
**Pop-up message:- This distribution number does not exist.
Checked through SQL server management studio, found that no transactions of the Journal Entry were being updated to table AAG30001, AAG30002, AAG30003, etc.
There's no exact solution that i can find over the internet.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure why this is happening,
but, Yes, if you can recreate the issue and if AA is missing for a particular scenario,
then we will be able to trace the issue,
LMK if you can recreate and the steps when its happening.

Hi,
Then it could not be user disable the Analytical Accounting, cause only me logged in as "sa" and for sure I'm not disable the Analytical Accounting or any other product... my users have individual login id based on their roles.
So, it could be due to other 'unknown' reason...
The user is posting the Journal Entries in batches, and the missing distribution only happened to one of the Journal Entry in a same batch.
Any idea?
Thanks!
Hi,
Only users logged in as "sa" can disable Analytical Accounting or any other products,
make sure you create a separate logins for users, so they don't disable.

Is there any way not to allow the user to disable the Analytical Accounting during posting? I think the user may not aware if they have accidentally disable it.
Correct, as the message says : "This will remove Analytical Accounting records if no corresponding records are found in the Microsoft Dynamics tables. If you have removed history we recommended that you do not use check links for Analytical Accounting. ... "
Running check links will compare the data of Work, Open and History Transactions of AA with GL,
then the unmatched record will be removed from AA. yes its risky you may lose your data.
solution is you can first compare the Data of test company with your live company data. and if data is proper you can run checklinks on live company.
Yes users can disable Analytical accounting.

Dear Mr SantoshG,
Thanks for your kind advice.
I'm just tested to run check link with TEST COMPANY and the missing AA distribution's is created for the posted Journal Entry.
However, would like to confirm (before apply it to LIVE COMPANY) if it is safe to run the check link as there's a pop up message (as below) before i continue the check link.
Message: "This will remove Analytical Accounting records if no corresponding records are found in the Microsoft Dynamics tables. If you have removed history we recommended that you do not use check links for Analytical Accounting. ... "
How could i make sure / confirm that the check link will not affect my existing AA records?
Is there any other possible solution?
Is that possible that the user disable the Analytical accounting during posting the Journal entries? As the problem only occur for some transactions not all.
Thanks!
Hi,
The only way for missing AA distribution's in the Open tables i.e., AAG30000, AAG30001, AAG30002 and AAG30003 table is
posting the Journal entries by disabling Analytical accounting.
else there are not possibilities that AA records will be missed,
one possible solution to create the AA records for posted Trx is to run check links, Please make sure you take a backup before running check links.

SantoshG
