Autofilled fields in Quick Create Form (from an Account)

Hello everyone,

I have a very strange behavior when I create (with Quick Form) an Opportunity (when I come from an Account form).

End user and Consulting Firm (two N:1 relationships) are autofilled with the name of the Account. (Strange for my users, they want to choose another accounts for these fields). They don't understand why these fields are autofilled (the relation is with "referential" behavior)

Thank you in advance for your help.

They are probably of "account" type, so they are autofilled. It does not matter if the behavior is referential / parental / etc, it's just a limitation of the mapping. If you have 3 lookups of the same type, all of them will be auto-filled, no matter from which parent record you are adding that child record.

What you could do, though, you could create a javascript to clean up those lookups in the onload of the quick create form..

    Thanks you for your answer.

But why, when you create an Opportunity "from scratch" with the classic form (Opportunity > New), these fields are not autofilled. Isn't a strange behavior ?

New as in not from the account? Because mapping does not kick in at that time - you are not creating it from the "parent" record, and that's the only time mapping will work..

    You're right.

Ok so all the accounts type fields will be autofilled with account parent. It's a fact :) Thanks Alex.
