Problem when a field change of value

(0) ShareShare

Hi:

I created several fields some of them with Yes or Not values, others as list.

The problem is when I select the yes or another value I have a rule to show a value in another field.

The problem is that sometimes dispaly the value in the another field, in other cases until I saved the opportunity, it have the new value.

I use business rules for this situation.

But the user want to see the new value without save the opportunity.

I am not using any kind of code as C#, Javascript, etc.

The user wants to use CRM 365 only without any kind of applications.

Is this possible?

What do I need to configure to fix this situation?

Is a problem with the business rule?

    Hi,

There certainly seems a problem with you business rule as BR works on change of the field values so if you have a BR which show/ hide a field or set value on field then it should work.

    Few things worth checking-

    1. The fields involved in the BR are all in the form.

    2. The BR scope is set to correctly i.e. correct form or entity.

    3. Within the BR logic, you also have the otherwise logic i.e. what happens when the condition is not true.

If you still face any issues, please share your BR details.

I hope this helps. If my post answer your question, please mark it as helpful/ verified.

Thank you for your answer Ravi, I continue with the problem.

I have the rule in all form, what do I need to separate them?

Do you have a document to help me?

The most of the rules are only for posivite results.

I can send you screenshots to see the definition of BR, there is only one for each field, only some fields have 2 or more BR? But some times display the result of the BR, in other case only until I saved the form.

    Hi,

"The most of the rules are only for positive results." you should set the negative results as well. I guess this could be the problem.

The scope of the BR means on which form should the BR executes. So if you have multiple form and you have set the scope to just one form then BR will not execute on other forms.

Thank you for your answer Ravi.

    I reviewed the rules.

I have another question the calculate fields when is showing, during the process of BR or after saved?

    I have this situation now.

Could you advise me about this ?

    Hi Jose,

Calculated fields works on save. Please also note that the calculation only happens if you have value in all your fields. Example, if you are adding 2 number fields then if any of the field is blank then it won't calculate.

If the above posts answers your current questions then I would appreciate if you can mark t as answer and close this thread so that it can help others as well.

It is always beneficial for all to create new thread for new questions as it makes the thread clean and align to the problem in questions.

I hope this helps. If my post answer your question, please mark it as helpful/ verified.
