Adding a comment line to Purchase Order on creation.

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a solution for our purchase orders.  For a specific vendor we need to add a static comment line when the purchase order is created and before it is emailed to the vendor.   This can probably be done via coding a customization but I was hoping Power Automate/workflows would be a solution.  Is this feasible?

Thanks everyone.  Currently testing out the Recurring Purchase Lines to see if it works with our config and if the vendor approves.  I'll update shortly.

Another option would be with a custom document layout. The position of the static text can be the same every time. You could even have the text in the body of the email using this method

    I vote with Kim's idea.

Once you have registered a standard code, and..

assign the code to a specific vendor.

Choose recurring purchase line on PO from menu below.

Then, Static comment (and also predefined item, if needed) will be set on PO line.

    I hope this helps you.

Hi, How about using Extended Text?

    Hope this also helps.

    Thanks.

Kim got the best solution here. I totally forgot that the recurring sales and purchase lines could be of type comment.

I would also try a Recurring Purchase Line(s) with type of Comment and whatever comment is needed. Then you added the recurring purchase line setup to the vendor and you have options of when to auto-insert the recurring line into purchase documents.

This might be less work and it's already available.  There is also an option to manually insert so if you want the comment always after your lines items rather than at the beginning of the PO....

    Definitely doable with Power Automate.

But i think you will get a better and more flexible solution if you do it through a small customization.

I guess the comment is not connected to a specific item? Because then you could use the extended text.
