Easy to move from CRM 2011 online to CRM 2011 on premises?

How easy (or hard) is it to migrate from Dynamics CRM 2011 online to Dynamics CRM 2011 on premises?
Some customers might start using the CRM 2011 online version as a pilot and then move to a full scale on premises solution in house. What about moving all data (Accounts/Contacts/Activities/Opportunities/Cases/etc./etc.)? What about customizations? Any tools to export and import the whole CRM 2011 database?

There are definitely some great tools out there. First option is the 3rd party tool called Scribe.

With this you can move all your data to your on premises Dynamics CRM.

This is the best way to go!

I believe you can also request a data file from Microsoft Support. But then you would still need to migrate the data from that file to your Dynamics CRM.

    Concerning your customizations.

With CRM2011 this is pretty easy, you just create an unmanaged solution, add all your entities and import this solution to your on premises Dynamics CRM.

You would do this of course before migrating your data.

    Hi Peter,

Online 2011 to on Prem 2011 - you can request a copy of your database and it will contain all of your data and customizations.

OnPrem 2011 to Online2011 - Need to export your customizations and import it online. However the data then needs to be moved via a 3rd party tool or a tool such as the one we wrote:
