as I do not have control of DNS, and too much time to get new DNS entries, I am wondering if it is ok to use one same DNS name for both internal and external organization web site names?

Does it affect how CRM authentication process as indicated in the first link?

did not try and would think it is ok as the internal one is just used for claims-based configuration and serves as one identifier in ad fs, does not conflict with another one auth.
