Dynamics 365 UCI - Very small error windows & Loss of error text formatting

Hi,

Issue #1: I've been testing a new UCI enabled interface for our D365 system and have noticed that the error message windows are very small compared to those displayed in the legacy interface. (note the images below - the same error in the old interface on the left and UCI on the right)

Is there a way to make the error window in UCI larger (to increase the text area and/or remove the unnecessary white-space)?

Issue #2: As can be seen in the old interface, line breaks could be used to space the lines out a bit, but the same tags don't seem to work in UCI. Does anyone know of any ways for me to get line breaks back in UCI?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Cam,

I tested in two online environments and both encountered your issue.(while height is proper in legacy web client)

    crm: Version 1710 (9.1.0.10743)

    crm5: Version 1710 (9.1.0.11134)

The reason is obvious, because CSS rules are different among UCI and legacy web client.

In UCI, error dialog height attribute was not to be set properly to contain error message.

As you see, actually the error message has exceeded its parent container.

However, we couldn't customize style file in online environment at present. (also for line break character not be recognized in UCI dialog)

So please suggest what you've found to Idea forum to make the UCI dialog could be changed in later version.

    Regards,

    Clofly

    Hi Clofly,

Thanks for your quick reply and finding out what was going on. I'll definitely get that into MS but do you think it would be worth loging it as a bug, seeing as it's a fault with the design?

Also, did you have any advice on the second point of my post regarding the line breaks?

    Hi Cam,

    1. A bug would be more related to some function that not works normally.

For example, In October, at the time that wave 2 update was initially release,

a user found that a flip-switch two oprtions field couldn't display on high density header, while other fields with other controls could all display well.

For your current issue, we can get error message dialog, but UCI didn't give us a proper look, it's more related to design.

    2. Unfortunately I also had no good advice on the point, because line break characters are not recognized and there is no access for us to customize the dialog.

    Regards,

    Clofly
