Can't Hide Entity in Site Map

(0) ShareShare

I'm editing the Site Map of a virgin (brand new) CRM 2011 Online organization.

I've been commenting out the XML for the entities I wish to hide.

I've done this successfully for all entities EXCEPT the 'Competitors' entity.

I've double checked the XML. The competitors entity is commented out, yet it still appears in the site map after the customizations have been published. Weird.

Is there some sort of dependency that forces it to stay? I've removed the competitor fields from the lead/opportunity forms.

See attached my Site Map Zip File.

    You can also use the below XML and can also try it after replacing Entity="String" with Entity="false". This XML defines what will be displayed in the main pane of the application when selected.

    <SubArea

    AvailableOffline=["0" | "1" | "true" | "false"]

    CheckExtensionProperty="String"

    Client=["All" | "Outlook" | "OutlookLaptopClient" | "OutlookWorkstationClient"  | "Web" ]

    Description="String"

    DescriptionResourceId="String"

    Entity="String"

    GetStartedPanePath="String"

    GetStartedPanePathAdmin="String"

    GetStartedPanePathAdminOutlook="String"

    GetStartedPanePathOutlook="String"

    Icon="String"

    Id="String"

    License="String"

    OutlookShortcutIcon="String"

    PassParams=["0" | "1" | "true" | "false"]

    ResourceId="String"

    Sku=["All" | "OnPremise" | "Live" | "SPLA"]

    Title="String"

    Url="String">

    <Titles />

    <Descriptions />

    <Privilege/>

    </SubArea>

    Thank you for your response Muhammad.

    I've tried the solution you posted of setting the entity= 'false'. It didn't work for whatever reason. The entity is still visible.

    I've also tried using the SiteMap Editor (which should be easy to use), but I can't get it to connect properly to my CRM organization (CRM Online within Office 365).

    This is something that should be really easy to change, i'm puzzled as to why it's not.

    Microsoft should build a sitemap editor right into the CRM application. It shouldn't require messing with import/export solutions and using third party editors.

    In the left hand side panel of sitemap editor, you could see the entities. Just right click on the entity, then 'Disable' the entity. It won't appear anymore, but at the sametime the entity has not been deleted.

    Hi,

    You can hide left hand navigation link/enity by using javascript at runtime(in supported way). Use below code on page load event of the entity form,

    Xrm.Page.ui.navigation.items.get(“linked”).setVisible(false);

    You can a link-id using IE developer tollbor(press F12 on entity form to trace the link id).

    Thanks,

    Vijay
