Neglected Contacts

Hi,

I am looking for the best way to run a report or advanced find to run something to find who our neglected contacts are (people with the least recent activity for example). Can anybody recommend the best way to do this? Ideally it would also be a weekly email sent out, but even just running a clear report/advanced find would be great.

Preferably it would actually be an advanced find look up than a report really.

    The best solution for getting an accurate picture of your neglected records would be to create a custom field on the record (i.e. Last Activity Date) and then update that field through a workflow when an activity regarding that record is closed. The Workflow would need to be written on each of the Activity types that you are tracking (i.e. Phone Call, Appointment, Any custom activity etc.)

    Because of the many-to-many relationships with activity parties, it is hard to get an accurate last activity date with workflow.  That is why we often do this with a plugin.  I am hoping one day Microsoft will add this to the product.

    In the meantime, we have built a utility that does this.

    Also, a quick way of doing this is to add all your contacts to a marketing list, and then do an advanced find query for contacts who HAVE activities.  Then you can use this query to remove members from your marketing list.  Here is a blog that describes a similar scenario.
