Production Order Due Date. Is it the start of the project or the expected completion date?

Hi Experts,

Can you please confirm what is the Due Date on a Prod. Order? And how does this impact the Starting Date-Time for the Parent-Subassemblies? Does this also impact the Schedule Starting Date-Time?

I have colleagues that indicate Due Date is the start of the project, when you are planning to start consumption of materials.

For me is the expected completion of the project, and routings then back calculate the starting dates.

The Due Date on a Production Order is the desired completion of the build. The standard process is to backward calculate the Routing Start Dates based on the Due Date. The End Date of the Production Order is the expected completion date based on your capacity and when you can start each Operation. If you End Date is before your Due Date, you are Early. If it is after your Due Date, it will be late.
