Field alignment in a form

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I am new to Dynamics CRM. I design the fields horizontal in the form in one column

but they display vertically in the front end.

How to display them horizontally in the front end.

RE: Field alignment in a form

    Hello,

Wondering if anyone could help me along the same lines as this post.

I have a section on a form with 4 x Sponsor fields (columns) and 4 x % Sponsorship fields (columns), these are side by side:

When this is viewed on a smaller screen, the fields are in a list, but they are ordered incorrectly:

I have removed the fields, saved and published the form, then added Sponsor1 \ % Sponsor 1, saved and published the form, then added Sponsor 2 \ % Sponsor 2, saved and published etc. etc., but I cannot get the to fields to show in a list on a smaller screen as Sponsor 1, % Sponsor 1, Sponsor 2, % Sponsor 2, etc.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance,

    Gail

    Hi partner,

Unfortunately, it is impossible currently. You have to zoom the browser.

Regardless of the form layout in UCI, it only displays one column.

I tried to change the scale of the three sections of the tab, but it didn't work. The only difference is that the browser only needs to zoom to 90% to display 3 columns. In my first answer, the browser needs to zoom 50% to display 3 columns.

UCI forcibly changes the way the form is displayed into a uniform style.

There is no such problem in the classic UI.

I'd recommend you share this Idea to the Microsoft team: https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/

I believe this requirement is reasonable. If they see this idea, they may improve the form layout function of UCI.

    Thanks Prashant,

The client requirement is to design in UI.

Requirement is 12 fields in one row., then below another 12 fields for a different criteria.

Is there no way to achieve this?

    Thanks,

    Alitia

Thanks Lu, but the requirement is to look like the picture i sent with 3 columns to and 12 fields in one line. More like a table is why i am stuck.

Because you’re using Unified interface, you’re seeing it like this. In classic UI it should have been fine.

The reason is, Unified Interface is a responsive design. For e.g. when you look at website on your mobile it looks different to the website on desktop.

Microsoft has done great investments for you to customise only one form while the design would adjust itself in mobile, tablet and desktop.

You can zoom in and out to see as per your needs.

RE: Field alignment in a form

    Hi partner,

This is designed to make the fields clear.

If your layout is too tight, D365 will show it in a clear way, for example, the front end of the form is displayed as 1 column, because the three columns are not suitable for reading.

When I reduce the browser's zoom, the form will display three columns.

So, if your form layout is too tight, only screens with a high resolution will display 3 columns correctly, otherwise only one column will be displayed.

I recommend that you place only one section in a tab, just like the form layout in my first answer, so that multiple columns can be displayed.

It would be great if you can share screenshots of both backend and front end

    Hi partner,

Could you provide a screenshot of your current form and a screenshot of the form layout you want?
