Active price vs Pending price

Dear Members,

I would like to know what is the difference between active price and pending price. I noticed that when running the costing version for an item, two prices appear. One in pending price section and other one in the active price section. Both of them are not the same. I wish to know which price is the actual cost price of the item and which one should be taken for calculation.

Also, I noticed that the price in the active price is showing up as the price in the manage cost section. Is this one to be considered as the actual price of the item ?
Please render your insights to clarify the functionality of Pending price and active price.

Thanks,
Saravanan M

    Hy,

as the naming tells us the active price is the price that will be used as cost price. The pending line is anyway something that is prepared or simulated for price changes. The pending one can be activated, and there can only be one active price. The cost price in the manage cost section can be catched up from the cost price version when ths "latest cost price" is activaited in the same section.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Saravanan!
The difference between active price and pending price is that the active price is the current price being used, while the pending price is a proposed price that has not yet been activated. By changing the status of an item’s purchase price record from Pending to Active, you can update the item’s base purchase price. The base purchase price is used as a default purchase price on purchase orders and can be manually overridden.

You can find more information about the differences by the following link:
