Filter and Sort Item List / Stock List from integrated BOM table on Item Card / Stock Card

Hello,

Currently my company's inventory is serialized, and filterable in item lists and stock lists in Dynamics 365. Our developer has placed critical item details in a sub-table BOM that is displayed on the Item Card and Stock Card. However the developer has said that this table (which displays the data in a well organized fashion) is not filterable or sortable on the item list or stock list. I was wondering if the developer might be wrong and if there is a means to have such data filterable from these lists.

Their current solution is to remove this table and list each bom component in individual fields on the item card and stock card, but this is a very unwelcome solution to how the data is currently presented. I am hoping to keep the BOM table and still be able to filter and sort the components from the lists.

Thank you so much for your time and insight.

Would it be possible to post a screenshot? It would help see what you have.

I suspect the developer added a variable to the page, and variables cannot be filtered. They need to be added as actual fields.
    For example,

Hope this can give you some hints.
    Thanks.

Thanks very much for the replies. Here is a screenshot of the table within a stock card and the stock list where I want to be able to filter from. I greatly appreciate the insight.

The stock components are all in a separate table to what the stock card is. Hopefully this makes sense.
