CRM 4.0 custom entity security role permissions only 'None' or 'Organization' available

Hello. I have created a custom entity in CRM 4.0 and would want only certain users to be able to read/write a specific record belonging to this custom entity. I have created a security role which allows read/write access to the custom entity and have added this security role to these users.

The problem arises where all records created from the custom entity are readable/writable by all users who have the security role allowing them read/write any record. I think this problem arises where Organization permissions can only be given to custom entities and not user-level or business unit permissions.

I am looking for a way to limit access to a specific record only to certain users (similar to discretionary-based access control). The 'Share' permission seems close enough, but looking in Security roles under Custom Entities,
under 'Share' there is no circle to select this permission. Is there a way to do this?

    Hi,

the entity was created with "Organizatio" as owner type instead of "User"

if you want "User" the only way is to delete and recreate the entity

Sharing is the way to do this, but sharing is only available for entities that can be user-owned, rather than organization-owned. You can't change the entity from organization-owned to user-owned, so you'd have to recreate the entity as user-owned
