I have the same question (0)

I'm replying in English, hope it's okay.

I need to have a play with this, since I'm not too strong in inventory costing anymore (I work in banking at the moment). At the cuff I cannot visualize any parameters related to FIFO that can support this, at least out of the box. Need to have a play with F&O...

If no-one else replies to this, I will check with a colleague on Monday and get back to you.

I work in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365FO) and want to be able to move items from location to location while they are in Received status. When the invoice is subsequently posted, and the invoice price is higher than the receipt price, I want to ensure that all locations containing the items in question are correctly included when I run inventory closing or recalculation. How can this be set up in D365FO?

    • You are working in the Procurement and Sourcing module.

    • You want to move items between locations while they are in Received status.

    • When you post the invoice and the invoiced price is higher than the confirmed purchase price, you want to ensure that all subsequent items are calculated correctly when you run inventory close and/or recalculate inventory.

It depends on how you have configured the inventory model (for example, FIFO or standard cost). Can you share how the inventory model is configured?

I don’t know whether you are working for a partner or an end user, but you could also discuss the requirement with your partner. It’s difficult to say exactly how you should configure your inventory without understanding how the business operates.

Also, an unrelated remark: Copilot might, in some cases, hallucinate suggestions, so it might not be entirely accurate. We have seen examples where it told users to click buttons that didn’t exist in the application.

    Good day,

Is it possible to update this post with the question in English?

    Best regards,
