How to create a calculated field for phone number 1 on the customer bill-to address id for inclusion on a form

I have a customer request to include the Phone 1 field of the customer bill-to address id on a form.  I'm thinking this will need to be a calculated field but need assistance on how to format/write the field definition.

    Hi,

    Have you tried just dragging it onto the report? You may find that you do not need a calculated field as the field will come over with the same formatting you see on the windows. Do you want a different format?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Thank you for responding Leslie.  The field I'm wanting to use is not a choice in the tables/fields that default in on the form.  I'm thinking that may be because the "Bill To" information is not chosen in the Sales Transaction Entry window, but on the Customer Maintenance window.  In addition, "Bill To" on the Customer Maintenance window is a look-up where you choose which address ID to assign.  The phone number for the main "Address ID" is available in Report Writer, as well as the phone number for the "Ship To" address ID chosen on the Sales Transaction window.  If there is another way to link to the customer address IDs and bring them in on the form I'm open to that as a solution as well.  Thanks for your time.

    Hi,

    The 'Bill To' information initially defaults in from the Customer Address Master according to the Address ID occupying the 'Bill To' field on the Customer Maintenance window. All of that is true. Am I reading this right to conclude that you are wanting the phone number for the Bill To Address to appear on your SOP document?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    RE: How to create a calculated field for phone number 1 on the customer bill-to address id for inclusion on a form

    The solution is using one of the RW functions I added to GP v7.0 in a calculated field.

    RW_RMAddrIDInfo()

    in 'Customer Number' IN_Customer_Number;

    in 'Address Code' IN_Address_Code;

    in integer IN_Field;

    {

    IN_Field should use the following values:-

    1 = Contact Name

    2 = Address 1

    3 = Address 2

    4 = Address 3

    5 = City

    6 = State

    7 = Zip

    8 = Country

    9 = Phone 1

    10 = Phone 2

    11 = Phone 3

    12 = Fax

    13 = Country Code

    }

    So pass in the Customer Number, BillTo Address Code and 9 to get the data. Format the field with the Phone format.
