Picking full licence plate instead of exact quantity

Hi all,

I have several licence plates of an item in different quantities between 95 and 105 kg in one storage bin.
The customer wants to have 100kg.
Currently, d365 creates work with 100kg - meaning that the picker would have to weigh the exact quantity. This is not possible.

How can I get the picker to go to the bin location, scan any licence plate and that quantity is transferred into the work and the sales order?

He himself does not know the exact quantity of the licence plate. This eliminates the over/under delivery tolerance. To use this, the current licence plate quantity would have to be entered in the mobile device.

(workaround: go to pick location. interrupt the picking work, scan licence plate and check qty and go on with picking. Problem in this case: We assign work to dedicated workers. After quiting the work the work is not assigned to this worker anymore)

In case of productions picking this is not an issue. There I can use use staging picking. I am searching for staging in case of customer order picking.

thanks in advance

Matthias

    Hi Matthias,

One option would be to allow over-picking on worker, however the system will still check the overdelivery limit on sales line.

Another option is to use catch weight items, set kg as inventory unit and Box or pcs as catch weight unit, the user will pick a Box, where quantity can vary from 95 to 105 kg.

    Thanks,
