Am I doing this correctly, in no. series in Navision 2018?

Hi ,

So I realize that I need to update the no series. In order for me to do that I was told to build it from the Configuration package and upload it.

As this is a new company, I have to update the no series from scratch.

The default no. series start from 2017, so I have to export the no. series into excel and do it for 2018, 2019, 202, and 2021..one by one.

Now, I have been doing so much, I wonder am I doing this correctly.

Do I really have to populate all the no series manually?

I have to change all GRN-1701001 to GRN-2001001, GRN-2101001.. etc.

According to the year, for 12 months in a year up till 2021.

Appreciate your kind advise. Thank you.

Thank you.

    Josh,

Are you trying to change the No. Series Line for the Document P-RCPT? If yes, your configuration if you want the No. Series, for the Document, to change each Month in 2021, you will need to have an Starting Date per No. Series line, per period. Here is my short image:

I am not clear why you want a Posted No. Series, per period, as my recommendation is that this is not needed and you can use a single number series that increments after each posting. Don't forget you can Navigate to the entry so have a period number series is not relevant to auditing and tracing the entries.

Your Rapid Start package, will need to point to Table 309 and you can insert new lines with the Starting Date. All Older rows will expire and not be flagged Open, when inserted.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

It is not just for Document P-RCPT, it is for every single document in Number Series.

You are right. I'm trying to change the number series to the most updated year. From Navision 2018, the number series start from 2017 all the way to around 2018 or 2019...

So I need to change the 2017 to the current year?

I think I understand what you mean.
