Hi,

I need to create Charts based on Content Control in Word reports layout. The word report is based on BC XML Schema on cloud implementation.

I tried until now to create chart based on content control repeater but this require VBA code in Word. The biggest problem is that BC reports are not executing VBA code or is blocked.

Is that possible ?

Hello,

that's right, cloud-based environments have restrictions on executing VBA code, the same as ActiveX Controls, for security reasons and generating charts in Word reports based on Content Controls can be challenging.

You can try to develop a Word report in BC and handle the calculations from the VBA code in the AL code. That's the way you can bypass restrictions on VBA code.

You could try to design a chart in RDLC layout in BC and then you could try to export that RDLC in a Word document.
Word document is not the best option for displaying charts, but for these purposes, you can use Power BI as well as Excel and the development process will be much easier.

Hi, Word layout has many limitations, such as the followings.

However, in the next version, Microsoft will enhance the Word layout, and hopefully your problem will be solved by then.
