CRM 4.0 - How to add values from a grid into an email triggered from Workflow.

My organization is running on CRM 4.0 and we have a logic of trigerring an email where the email body has certain attributes fetched from an entity (lets call it as X). Now the new requirement is to remove the section from X and instead add a grid (of a new entity Y) in that place, where Y will have all attributes from the section in X. It can be done using an Iframe. But anyone has any idea on how to pull multiple values/rows of grid into the email? In the email body properties, we have option only of fetching values from individual attributes and not from a grid.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

If you need to read values from multiple records, then you'll need to create a custom workflow activity to do this

Thanks for the response David. But if I am not wrong, custom workflow is not available in CRM 4.0 right?

You are wrong. Custom workflow activities are available in CRM 4.0.

But the email trigerred from a workflow in CRM 4.0 has options only for adding values from attributes of the entity.

How will I read entire values of a grid then?

Get reference to current record, build query, get values. Good luck.
