Hello,

I'm working with a customer in Finland. Is there any way to generate a PEPPOL invoice format, through standard tools in Business Central? Or do I need some development to cover this requirement?

Hello,

You can generate PEPPOL (BIS 3.0) invoices in standard Business Central, so no custom development is required. You just need to set up E-Documents / Document Exchange Service, choose a PEPPOL connector (like Pagero, Continia, Avalara, etc.), configure a Document Sending Profile with PEPPOL as the electronic format, and then use Post and Send → Electronic Document. For Finland specifically, the localization also supports Finvoice, which is commonly used domestically, but PEPPOL works fine if required. Note that you’ll still need a contract with a PEPPOL access point provider — that part isn’t included in the BC license.

Hi,
Yes, BC can create the PEPPOL file itself no problem, but for sending you need 3rd party app (Access Point). BC make the file, but the Access Point send it through PEPPOL network - like BC write the document and Access Point is the delivery service.
For Finland and Nordic countries, these are good options from AppSource:
Pagero - This one Microsoft integrate directly in standard BC already. Just activate Pagero connector in settings and make contract with them. They handle Finvoice format easy, very big global company.
Continia - Very popular in Nordic. Their Document Output module has "Delivery Network" that route PEPPOL automatic. Nice thing is if your Finnish customer not on PEPPOL and need Finvoice or TEAPPSXML instead, Continia convert and send for you automatic.
Qvalia - Nordic company, have BC app direct. Connect easy, handle PEPPOL and EDI, plus they have AI posting for incoming supplier invoices.
Maventa connectors (like Azets Maventa app) - Maventa is very common in Finland for e-invoice. You download connector app from AppSource and link BC to Maventa network directly.
