Word Template vs. Standard Report in Report Destination Dialog Box

Had this question come up at Convergence last week - is there a way to set specific reports to always present the Standard Report as the default option rather than the Template?

Thanks,

Hi Frank - if the template is not assigned to a company (or customer etc) - does it not then default to the standard report?

I don't think there is a way to enable a template, but have the standard report default. I wonder if Word was not installed on the workstation would the standard report default?

    Stab in the dark!!

    Ian.

What you're saying would work Ian, but the customer wanted the option of either the Template or the Standard Report, but have the Standard report be the default instead of the Template.  I took a look at some of the Report Template & Print Options tables, hoping I'd find a setting that you could switch to select a default but so far haven't found the right setting . . .

    Thanks!

My guess is, it must have been coded on Report Destination window PRE, to add these dropdown values (Template, Standard, etc.) programmatically whenever this window is opened. I don't think we would have this stored in any table or even any globals.

One possible method, if agreed, is to set "Standard" as the default option using a VBA code piece, whenever the report destination window pops up. I haven't done it yet, but worth a try.

I had this same issue arise last week.

On the Template Configuration there is a check box way at the bottom of the screen that if it is checked will default all reports to template.

This is even if none of the companies has been checked in the top of the screen.

Check it out!  Reports -> template configuration.

    I am agree with Mr.Vaidhyanathan.

I think there is no setting available to set the "Standard Reports" as default. But, we can achieve the same by creating a customization in either VBA or Dexterity.

    Hope this helps!!!
