How can I enable PHONETIC SEARCH in Dynamics CRM 2015 on-premise? By phonetic search I mean that the search results will contain also similarly sounding words e.g. Meier, Mayer...

I've seen some old posts about this topic but I am wandering what is the current solution that is easiest to implement.

Do you mean the relevance search?

If so, unfortunately it is a newer feature and not available in CRM 2015

Not simple. First you will have to implement an algorithm to convert names into a phonetic form. SoundEx and Double Metaphone are two algorithms to do this. Secondly, you will have to create new fields on the Contact record to store the phonetic version of first and last names. Thirdly, you will have to modify the CRM search functions to optionally do a phonetic search by converting a search term to phonetic form and relevance searching the contacts database using the phonetic terms. If there's an easier way i'd love to know.

Hi Martin,

It isn't an OOB feature of CRM. You would need to build some custom search app to achieve that.
