How to remove duplicates from static marketing lists

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to remove duplicates from static marketing lists and preventing them from sending duplicated emails. These lists contain contacts added through a workflow (query: update marketing list members). I see that there are duplicated twice, three, four or even five times and I guess it is because they are duplicated in CRM contacts, too, but I cannot take the risk of sending so many times the same email to one client.

Thank you in advance

    Hi, Andrew!

Thanks for your reply, although I am not exactly sure if that can solve my issue.

I've checked the duplicated contacts and they are not duplicated in CRM, so the problem should lie on the workflow. I've cleaned the lists manually and when I remove a duplicated contact (they are always quadrupled, not just duplicated) all the records from the same contact disappear, so I decided to add them manually and checked that they cannot duplicate even though I try to add the same contacts more than once.

Do you have any idea why this happens? And could you confirm that despite having the same record quadrupled the emails will not be sent 4 times to the same record?

Thank you very much in advance

    Hello,

I don't think it's possible to add the same record to marketing list. I believe you have duplicates inside CRM. My recommendation is following:

    1. Run duplicate detection job.

    2. Go through results, merge duplicates.

    3. Remove members of marketing list based on query where contact is inactive.

    That should resolve your issue.
