Stock not showing on Inventory Stock Status report

I have 2 items set up in my Inventory. There is stock on hand for both of these (Enquiry >> Inventory >> Item Enquiry)...and...the underlying transactions add up to this on hand quantity (Enquiry >> Inventory >> Item transaction).

However, when I run a Stock Status report with no restrictions etc. these items are not listed! Every other item with an on hand quantity is listed correctly. Just not these two.

All items (including my two above) are set up identically - ie all are tracked by lot number, all are 'Inventory' type etc. etc.).

I ran a reconcile and a check links. I checked the Item Quantity master and all seems fine. Any suggestions? Am I missing something simple? Is it a known issue fixed by a service pack?

I also ran the historical stock status report and same as above - my two items are left off the report. Other reports include them, such as the Physical Stock Count etc.

System is GP 10 running on MSSQL Standard runtime - no GP service pack applied yet. I don't want to apply a service pack unless it specifically resolves this issue.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I hate issues like this one.

Ian, sounds like an item is setup correctly (IV00101), and you can see quantities (IV00102), but it's not showing up on the stock status report. Stock status doesn't pull from IV00102. It pulls from IV10200.

This query should match the results on the stock status report. If the item is not in these results, that explains why it's not on your report. However, if there are missing IV10200 records, it should have adjusted the IV00102 table when you ran IV Reconcile.

Hi Ron, I ran the query above and my items are listed along with all the other items, with the correct quantity on hand and total value...

So...where does this leave us? I hate these kind of issues too!!

By the way - No adjustments were made by the reconcile, and nothing related came up on the checklinks (just some lot numbers in the work file that were orphaned).

Its a doozy.

Any other thoughts?

I can't imagine what it would be but I would suspect some characteristic(s) of those two items that is filtering them out of the reports. Or, maybe there is something wrong with the reports.

Yeah, my first thought was there must be some setting somewhere for these items that I didn't see before that is somehow excluding these items from the report. I imported all item records using integration manager, so they should all be the same....of course the customer may have made changes, but I've been through every possible field, and compared tables etc in SQL.

Then I reckoned it might be the report, but there is no mention in any service packs etc. I can't recreate the issue on our test systems.

Thanks for your help so far guys. Might be one to bounce over to Microsoft by the end of the week.

Hi Frank and Ron,

I logged this with MS. The upshot is this is a known issue in V10 and is scheduled for fixing in V11.

The problem is that there was no default Inventory GL posting account assigned to these items - eithre specifically on the Item Card, or generally in the Inventory Default Posting accounts in Posting Setup.

Once there is a valid default Inventory posting account set up, the items appear on the stock status report.

I actually noticed that these two items did not have default accounts when I was comparing good and bad items across various tables, but thought 'Nah, that can't be it!'....

Also, there is no techknowledge posted yet on this.
