GP Web Client hangs at "Intializing application..."

I have set up the GP Web Client, and I can log in and access it using Chrome. However, when I try to access it using Internet Explorer, the application always hangs after login. The blank window comes up with "Inititalizing application..." and never moves on from that point.

This is in a Domain Environment, I am using a self signed SSL certificate and it does have a preivate key as specified on page 31 of the set up manual. I have double-checked and the "purpose" is "Server Authentication". I have added the server name to the "Trusted Sites" and security is set to low. I have run the GPTrustedApp.msi on the client machine.

I'm assuming that since the application works in Chrome, I have the permissions set up properly on the back-end.

I have turned on logging on the TennantConfiguration.xml, but no logs are being written when the application hangs in IE.

I'm running out of ideas on what to check. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Is this from the server or a workstation?

Workstation. The GP web client works in Internet Explorer on the server. On a workstation it hangs.

Ahh, did you export the Self Signed Certificate from the server and import it on the workstation?

Imported to Certificates (Local Computer) -> Personal -> Certificates

As well as into Internet Explorer itself as a troubleshooting step.

OK, I just fixed this this morning.  I had to import it to the Trusted Root Certificate for it to work.

First: no cert -> hang at initializing

Second: Cert not in Computer-Trusted Root Certificate -> hang at initializing application

Third try: Cert in Computer-Trusted Root Certificate -> Working

Is now the time to tell you how amazingly cool you are?

Thank you very much! That worked like a charm.

You're welcome!  I've been working on it off and on with a test box for two weeks and finally figured it out this morning, glad it could help someone else!
