Running CRM 2016 on prem.

We are having an issue where the contact notes section is taking several minutes to load. The contacts do have quite a few notes. It would be great to have the "more" link at the button of the list like the activities do. Currently every note is downloaded making the form very slow.

    Is there some way to limit the number of notes loaded initially?

    There's no supported way to do that.  My workaround has been to put notes in its own tab up top, and then collapse the tab by default.  This will make the page load quickly, and your users only have to open Notes when they need to input/read said notes.

    Alternately, consider some method of archiving old notes to another entity that doesn't get loaded by the Contact form.

    I have considered the option of having the social pane default to the activities tab. I think this will do the same thing as having the collapsed tab at the top you mentioned.

    I like the idea of archiving/moving some of the older notes? is there a best practice/supported way to do that?
