How do I assign the SUPER user permissions to a user?

Hello,

I created a sandbox environment for Business Central as I want to import company data from dynamics 365 sales/inventory for testing before going live. I am on the business central trial and it automatically created the Cronus company. When I go to settings>my settings>company>ellipses>allowed companies>ellipses>new>create new company. I get the message "Only users with the SUPER permission set can create a new company.". I've searched online and cannot find a way to achieve this that makes sense. I'm a 365 admin, have all the permissions, etc, but cannot seem to give myself super permissions, even though the Microsoft guide says the first user created is granted it automatically.

I'm getting very frustrated with this platform and am considering leaving it. Everything seems to be so convoluted and painful to do, with the guides Microsoft provides online having no screenshots with step by step markings for new users. Can someone please help? Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

While creating user in BC D365 SAAS environment, one Option Tab is coming in which you assign admin rights. Refer the below link for more information.

Have you checked in the user table that you are the only user there?

Maybe the super user right was assigned to another user. Then you need that user to log on and give you the needed permission.

You could also create a completely new sandbox.

    Hello Inge,

What I did yesterday was sign in using my admin account, create a new sandbox in the development environment, go to it, activate the business central trial and try to create a fresh company to populate with my own data for testing. I've been stuck on the last step for over 24 hours now.

Anyway, I was able to eventually get it to work in the new sandbox I'd created, by going into a different users account who no longer works here, and granting my account the permissions. My head hurts.

    Hello again Inge,

So I got that part setup(I think) but now I'm running into a new error that I have not seen before when trying to setup the company details using the assistant. When I get to the end after inputting the company information, it says "You do not have the following permissions on TableData Company: Modify.". I looked under the new account and the previous one I had used to make the new on SUPER, and the account is listed as SUPER in both. I've searched online and found many people facing similar issues in different ways, but none of the things that I've tried have worked so far.
