Hi Experts

My client currently has setting of Unit-Amount Rounding Precision as 4 decimals (0.0001) in the General Ledger Setup but want to change it to 2 decimals (0.001).

It seems that General Ledger Setup allows to update the Unit-Amount Rounding Precision, however I concerns the discrepancy on the existing  price master and transaction (has posted in 4 decimals). 

Has anybody handled the changing in Rounding Precision after go-live? If so, can you share your findings?

    Hello Haruka,

    Thank you for posting your question on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Forum.

    From past support experience, changing the Unit Amount Rounding Precision and Unit Amount Decimal places has a more limited impact because the end Amount (LCY) and Amount posted to the Ledgers is rounded based on Amount Rounding and Amount Decimal Places in General Ledger Setup.  Therefore, a company can set extended or reduced decimal places to the Unit Amount Rounding Precision and Unit Amount Decimal Places fields. However, in the end, the actual amount posted will have to be rounded based on the currency being used, such as always to two decimal places in the United States and Canada for dollar and cents rounding.  There may be small total LCY (penny amount) differences due to a change in rounding of the Unit Amount, but I cannot think it would be a material difference from a GAAP accounting perspective.

    We can see if other customers or partners post a response to your question from actual experience.

    We just did this couple of days before , yes there will be a certain difference at the end but it will be very small and is negligible.
