Hi,

We are planning to use sharepoint for document management. Our question is can we integrate Dynamics 365 with SharePoint 2013 or SharePoint 2016? Is it only can integrate with SharePoint 2016 ? Both are on-premises.

If you are using server-based integration with SharePoint, you can use Microsoft SharePoint Online or Microsoft SharePoint 2013 SP1 on-premises (or a later version).

If you are using the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 List Component for Microsoft SharePoint, one of the following versions of Microsoft SharePoint must be available:

Microsoft SharePoint 2013 or Microsoft SharePoint 2013 SP1

    Microsoft SharePoint 2010 SP1 or SP2

    Microsoft SharePoint Online

How do we decide whether to go with Server-based integration or List Component?

The user wants to upload 200MB docs from CRM and while uploading they want to segregate the type of document as Initial, Final, etc., I noticed maximum is 5MB upload with SharePoint integration. The user don't want to go to SP to upload the documents.

Which is the best solution ?

I would recommend going with Server-based integration.

The list component was available for previous releases of SharePoint and Dynamics, and although it is still available, it is being deprecated and support will end for it.

    See the following link:

Hopefully that will make your decision much easier.
