I have PICK and PICKLP locations.
License plates do not control items in Pick locations, but Items in PickLP locations are License plate controlled.
I have Items with Fixed Batch numbers.
Fixed batch number items should be in PICK and NOT in PICKLP locations.
My problem is that I have an Item with a Fixed Batch number in a PICKLP location without a License plate.
Because of this, I cannot move the items out of the location, so I can change the location to a PICK Location. I have tried using the mobile device to move it. I have tried using different journals. I have tried to scrap it out of inventory. I have tried cycle counting out of inventory. I have tried to change the location profile to PICK without moving the item out of the location.

Hi Spencer,

Can you try the following steps?

1. Create a new license plate

2. Assign the new license plate via a adjustment journal or via a transfer journal to the item in the PICKLP location

3. Try to move the item with the new license plate

The reason that the journals did not work was because there was no License plate assigned.

First, let me start this with a thank you for the help, Andre.

Full disclosure: this is my first rodeo. I know I have a lot to learn. Please don’t presume I know 100% of what I am talking about or have access to all the modules and fields. At times, I think I may not have been given access to all the tools I need to see the problem, how it happened, or to fix it.

All our journals seem to revolve around subtracting or adding Items to inventory. We went through the journals, and I think we use everyone available. The idea was to Zero out the location and then add the item back to the location with a License plate.

I don’t remember the error, so I will need to try doing it again.

The reason I am doing this in the first place is because this is a new system for the company. We just went live with last month. I have been going through and trying to correct things such as this, where the location should have been a PICKLP location but was made a PICK (non-LP controlled) location. The TempNOLP location is new. I created it to try to move this item and others in the future.

I did all these movements with the Scanner app on my computer and just used the movement process.

So, this location YA04-3-A was a PICK location at the beginning. I created an LP and moved the Item to a PICKLP location (Missing) with the LP I created. I then changed the location profile to a PICKLP for the YA04-3-A location and moved the Item back to the YA04-3-A location with the LP I created and used to move into the missing location.

The Transfer journal was Validated with no errors.

I am using the inventory counting journal to zero out the location.
The Inventory counting journal was Validated with no errors.

After this error message, I used the last LP associated with the Item. It was validated with no errors and posted with no errors.
The Inventory journal shows that it was posted.

HOWEVER “comma” in the On-hand by Location and the Physical On-hand Inventory it still shows the same item and quantity in location YA04-3-A.
The TempNOLP in the On-hand by Location does not show this item.

I hope this additional information helps. I am genuinely at a loss now, sense the counting journal post, but nothing has happened.

Hi Spencer,

Thanks for the details. When you try to use a journal, you also have issues related to the 'TempNOLP' or do you then get another error?

I am unable to get an error. In the scanning process, I scanned the License plate in the FROM location. There isn’t a license plate to scan. I am starting to feel like this is easy to fix, but I am just overlooking the answer. I am sure I will have an “I could have had a V-8” moment when I see the answer.

Here is a screenshot of the On-hand by locations, showing that it is a PICKLP location, and the Part does not have an LP.

When I try to use the TO location instead of the LP, here is the error. No Brainer, right?

When I use the last LP attached to the part, this is the error I see.

Hi Spencer,

You mentioned that you made several attempts moving the item. Can you indicate why this doesn't work? Do you get error messages? If so, please share them, so we might understand what is going on.
