Fiscal Year Close - 3 of 4 DB's split close

We are close to the point where we normally close our Fiscal Year in GP.  I have one operation that wants to hold off due to some personnel issues (they aren’t done with 2012 and are working overtime to complete).


Is there an issue if I close 3 of our 4 companies and leave the fourth open for several extra days?  I’ve never done split closes before so I am asking before committing an answer to the Controller group.

    Do you have any consolidated financial reports that needs complete data from all four companies? If not, there is not problem in closing just 3 of your 4 companies. Each company is independent of the other.

    You said 'operation'. We are presuming each company is in a different database.
