A duplicate column heading exists...

Hi All,

I get this error for a couple of entities when I try to download the templates for data import.

Is there an easy way of identifying which fields are duplicates? I'm assuming that it is duplicate field names in the schema, and I've tried visually comparing the schema names on the fields, but can't see any duplicates.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

Refer to following article. It provides the steps to remove duplicate column in Excel.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

Hi, sorry, I should have been clearer. It's when you go to Data Management >>Templates For Data Import, select the entity and click "Download".

It is supposed to download a blank spreadsheet I can put values in, but it gives me the error.

It happens for a couple of different entities, both where the schema has been modified at some point.

For clarity, it isn't when I am trying to upload a spreadsheet with values, I can't get that far.

    Hi MBwd

Are you taking the latest Data map from CRM and populating values and then import into CRM. This what are you trying to do and it is showing duplicate column heading?

Hi, the error appears when I try to download the template. So, when I click on the "Download" button where you download templates for data imports. It does not let me download the template, it gives me the error.

I think this is because there are duplicate fields in the schema for the entity, so I would like to know if there is a way of seeing which columns are duplicates. I am running CRM Online, so cannot view trace logs etc.

Hi, I have a client experiencing the same issue on both the online production and the Sandbox orgs.   Spring update was applied two weeks ago.

Seems to be happening on the main entities in the sales area (Accounts, Contacts, and Leads).  In the service area the Cases import template did not cause an error.

I can confirm, this behaviuor is still persists. Double checked the presence of duplicate column headings... No duplicate column headings in the system!

Instead of comparing schema names have you tried looking at the display names on the form (and field) to see if the main forms have any duplicates?  (It exports the columns based on what is visible on the forms).  Maybe the column header is based on display name.

I'm having the same problem, except that when I go to Leads, it is stuck with that error message.

Copy the header of the Excel file and paste it into the notepad. Then you can find what column is causing the problem. Go back to the view and delete the column worked for me.
