I have the situation where I need to add a "issue margin" to inbound PO delivery dates - which if you used in the coverage group also affects sales orders where we have stock.
For example - we have 10 of a product on the shelf and want to sell these for shipment tomorrow - ATP shows this, if an order for 20 comes in then the sales order would show the purchase order date - 1st Dec in this case.
The problem is the work for the 1st is released in the morning and the delivery from the PO may not arrive until late that day.
If I add a Issue Margin of 4 days I then have the following scenario...
we have 10 of a product on the shelf - using ATP and Issue Margin the sales order does not show a delivery date of tomorrow, however, today plus 4 days - even though there is stock.- this is a problem. However if an order for 20 comes in then the PO shows as 1st Dec plus the 4 days.
On the PO there are sales delivery dates etc. However, none of these seem to affect the ATP date of when the product can come in.
We need ATP to show the purchase delivery + X margin days - however - if the product is on the shelf no margin should be added as we can ship it the next working day or same day.
Has anyone had this and is there a solution I am missing?
Hi Mel,
You may want to look at CTP instead of ATP.
ATP is by date, and does not use a time stamp.
CTP is an explosion bases process.
