Hi all,

Where in business central can I easily find out which serialnumber is in which bin code?
What settings do we need to do or is it possible to see it somehow in item tracking entries for example?
or do you have a better solution?
I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

If you are using the latest version of BC then you could use the following powerbi report.

You could also drill into the bin contents on an item and then filter on the warehouse entries.

If you create Serial No information then you can find entries from there which should take you to warehouse entries.

There are also the following links from the item card where you can then filter the information.

    Hope that helps,
    Shauna

    Hello,

To find out which serial number is in which bin code in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can use the Item Tracking Lines page.
    1. Navigate to the Item Card:
      • Go to the Item Card for the item you are interested in.
      • Ensure that the item has an Item Tracking Code assigned to it.
    2. Open Item Tracking Lines:
      • From the Item Card, choose Related > Entries > Ledger Entries.
      • Select the relevant entry and then choose Item Tracking Lines.
    3. View Serial Numbers and Bin Codes:
      • On the Item Tracking Lines page, you will see the serial numbers and their corresponding bin codes.
    Settings Required
To enable this functionality, you need to set up item tracking codes properly:
    1. Set Up Item Tracking Codes:
      • Go to Item Tracking Codes and create a new code or modify an existing one.
      • Define policies for serial numbers and bin codes under the Serial No. and Bin Code fields.
    2. Assign Item Tracking Codes to Items:
      • On the Item Card, assign the appropriate item tracking code to the item.

    Hi,

I know this can be confusing for someone coming from GP or another system, but with time, you'll get the hang of Business Central. I think the following areas are worth looking into:

    Item Tracking Lines
    Bin content
    Item ledger entries

    Thanks
    Ramesh

Hi, just adding some info. The latest Power BI reports are a great option, but this requires the Power BI app to be installed and a Power BI Pro license is required.

Enabling Power BI integration with Business Central

Bin data is stored in Warehouse Entry, and you can aggregate it through analysis mode.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

You can get this free app to add a new factbox to the bin contents page to view items in their bin by their serial no. - Find the right app | Microsoft AppSource
