Divide Competitors (Lead Form)

Hi!

We are trying to manage 2 kinds of competitors in our Lead's from. We have created 2 grids with the Competitors entity and set a different name to each one.

But how can we do to save and know what competitor belongs to a "type" ? Also I want to keep this data on Opportunities so I must know where to put the competitors in A or B grid.

It this possible?

    Yes, it is possible.

    1. Create a field called Type in Competitor entity. Could be an option set with say Direct, Indirect, etc., as values. Make it a Business Required field so you get the classification for all competitors.

    2. Add this field to the Competitor entity's Main and Quick Create forms

    3. Create views in Competitor that filter based on the Type

    4. On the lead form, use these views to set the Competitor grids

    5.  Publish all the customizations

    You would see something like this

    Thank you, that would work, but if a competitor in some cases goes in the grid A and in other cases in the Grid B. That would mean that I need to create the competitor 2 times, right?

    Like having CompetitorX (grid a) and CompetitorX (grid b)

    Yes, that is correct.Since we are classifying at the competitor level and not really at opportunity level.
